Game Preview: Marlies at Amerks, 11/30/2012


Tonight marks the second of ten meetings between the Amerks and the Marlies. The Amerks are 0-1-0-0 against the Marlies this season, and 0-0-0-0 at home. Last season the Amerks were 3-4-3-0 against the Marlies, and 1-2-2-0 at home.  In their first meeting of the season the Marlies beat the Amerks by a score of 3-1.Will tonight be a repeat of the Amerks’ performance against the Rampage? Game Preview: San Antonio Rampage at Amerks, 11/28/2012


Tonight marks the first of two meetings between the Amerks and the San Antonio Rampage. Last season the Amerks were 0-1-1-0 against the Rampage and 0-1-0-0 at home. The two teams are currently in much different situations, as the Rampage are 2-6-0-2 in their last 10 games while the Amerks are 5-4-1-0. From Where I Sat: Brian Flynn is Good at Hockey Edition


Tonight marked the first of four meetings between the Albany Devils and the Rochester Americans. Coming in to tonight the Devils were 15th in the Eastern Conference with 12 points, while the Amerks were 8th in the Western Conference with 17 points. In other words, this was exactly the kind of team the Amerks should get a regulation win against. Fortunately for most of the 8,781 fans in the Blue Cross Arena, they were able to do just that. Game Preview: Heat at Amerks, 11/16/2012


Tonight marks the first of eight meetings between the Americans and the Abbotsford Heat. Last season the Amerks were 1-1-2-0 against the Heat, and 1-0-1-0 at home. After a 4-1 road victory against the Hamilton Bulldogs on Wednesday, the Amerks will be looking to notch their third straight win. Conversely, the Heat will be looking to continue Barry Brust’s shutout streak which currently stands at 231 minutes, 41 seconds. The only goal Brust has conceded in his four appearances this season was to former Sabres/Amerks legend Zack Kassian. Read More…

Game Preview: Phantoms at Amerks, 11/9/2012


For the second time this season the Rochester Americans will play the Adirondack Phantoms. Tonight would make for a good bounce back win after blowing a 2 goal lead (for the second time in as many nights) against the Hamilton Bulldogs and losing 4-3. Last night marked the second meeting of the season against the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Rochester Americans. Coming into last night the Amerks had won the first meeting of the season by a score of 4-3. After blowing a 2-0 lead, the Amerks were able to pull out a victory in the shootout by a score of 3-2. Game Preview: Bulldogs at Amerks, 11/2/2012


Tonight is the second meeting of the season between the Hamilton Bulldogs (Canadiens) and the Rochester Americans. In their last meeting at the First Niagara Center, the Amerks made quite an impression on their way to a 3-1 win. The Amerks are 4-0-1-0 in their last 5 games. After a comeback against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, and an emotional loss with seconds remaining in overtime, the Amerks are coming off of another convincing win against the Adirondack Phantoms (Flyers).
