Frozen Four Bracket Challenge
We here at The Ruff Writers have an appreciation for hockey at all levels, and it just so happens to be that magical time of year when playoffs are happening at both the major junior and collegiate levels. As such, I thought it would be a nice to change of pace to have a friendly competition between us writers and see who can best predict the outcome of the NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey Frozen Four. Unfortunately the Frozen Four is vastly overshadowed by March Madness (Go Orange!), but it is by no means any less entertaining. Upsets will happen and ultimately a champion will be crowned. But who will the champion of The Ruff Writers Frozen Four Bracket Challenge be?
The rules of the challenge are simple; use whatever metrics you wish to decide who will win each game while trying to go as far as possible. Guessing, coin tossing, looking at statistics, looking at season series (where applicable), or even consulting octopuses are all on the table! The prize is more simple than the rules. Whoever goes the deepest into the challenge receives a year’s supply of bragging rights. Below you will find the generic Frozen Four bracket.
And now for our picks!
The first game is between Union and Michigan State on Friday at 3PM on ESPNU. So tune in and watch some entertaining hockey. I promise that you will not be disappointed. Best of luck to my fellow writers, but prepare to be vanquished!
